  • For an important Moroccan enterprise group (August 05 – March 06)
    Interim Director of Technology for the launch of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in France, being responsible of both Network and IT areas.
  • For a consortium of major global investment groups (June 05 – August 05)
    Responsible of the PMO for the wireline team of the due diligence to acquire the Spanish Auna Group (initial non-linking offer of 12,000 million euro). Responsible of the study of the unbundling the local loop part (ULL) of the fixed line business.
  • For one of the alternative fixed line operators in Spain (Feb 05 – May 05)
    Gustavo López participates in the study of the evolution of the Network area to support the new challenged introduced by the new ULL regulation (Unbundling Local Loop).
  • For one of the most important MVAS in Spain (Jun 04 – Dec 04)
    Gustavo López was the responsible of the technological part of the due diligence to acquire another MVAS company with presence in 6 countries (2 Continents) and of the definition of the taking over process for the technology which allowed reducing operation expenses in 7MM € annually. Gustavo López helped our client in the taking over the control of Asia and Nordic countries. Gustavo López also did a high level assessment of the migration process of the ERP of the group from SAP to Navision.
  • For a major global investment group (Mar 04 – Apr 04)
    Gustavo López was the responsible of the technology part of the options assessment for launching a third mobile operator in Bulgaria, designing the new IT backend and front end architecture and GSM / CDMA450 network solution blue print and developing the technology part of the business plan for both technologies (GSM and CDMA450). Gustavo López also participated in the development of GSM license in Europe benchmark for the Bulgarian regulator.
  • For one of the alternative fixed line operators in Spain (Dec 03 – Jan 04)
    Gustavo López coordinated the definition of processes and technical requirements for ULL (Unbundling Local Loop).
  • For a new wireless carrier in Colombia (Ola) (May 03 - Nov 03)
    Gustavo acted as the Interim director of TI Infrastructure and Operations, defining the 3 main Data Centers nation wide and carrying out their roll out, definition of the data network needs nation wide (to support backend and GSM network data needs), preparation of the RFP, negotiation with vendors and execution of the network deployment. Gustavo also was the responsible of the Business Simulation project (verification of the company readiness for Launch), operating the full company (from handset ordering, distribution, selling, line activation, line usage, billing, and leaving) to verify all areas readiness, detecting problems in the operation and assessing and coordination of solution to such problems.
  • Companhia Vale de Rio Doce (Rio de Janeiro) (Jan 03 – Mar 03)
    For the largest iron mining company in the world (in Brazil), Gustavo López participates in the creation of the new IT strategic department, defining the methodology, processes and tools for the Program Management Office, which has to deal with large and long lasting projects, as well as a large number of external initiatives (>300).

    Gustavo López participates in the development of a white paper about Mobile Application Platforms market and the vendor benchmarking process, contributing with his experience in the new wireless carriers technical architecture and product market space.
  • Hutchison 3G (Vienna)
    Technical expert coordinator of the Launch Project Implementation for the commercial Launch of the enterprise.
  • 3G Mobile AG (Zurich) (7 months)
    Participates in the design of the prototype of a platform to support 2.5G and 3G services, mainly in the design of the authentication and single sign-on (based mainly in an adapted version of Kerberos), session management and back-end integration (based on OSS/J). Co-lider of the Customer Care Technical team. Participates in the Business Application Systems (BAS) Architecture design.
